Faye V. Tate

YORK Faye V. (McKinney) Tate, 73, died on Monday, December 3, 2012, at 12:30 a.m. at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles E. "Wimp" Tate. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. The service will follow at 11 a.m. with Major Suzanne Saunders, pastor with the Salvation Army, officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Tate was born January 1, 1939, in York, and was the daughter of the late Paul L.C. and Ruth I. (Fogle) McKinney. She was a homemaker, a former employee of the laundry dept. at the Yorktowne Hotel, and a graduate of William Penn H.S. Class of ' 57. Mrs. Tate is survived by two daughters, Debra R. McKinney and Melinda F. Cash and husband Jeff all of York; a grandson, Jarrid F.C. Cash; and five brothers, Paul L.C., Jr. and Edward E. McKinney both of York, Steven P. McKinney of Wrightsville, and Wayne L. and James P. McKinney both of York. She was preceded in death by a son, Troy E. Tate; a daughter, Crystal L. Tate; three sisters, Dolores Bryant, Yvonne Tate and Kathy Wolf; and a brother, Arthur E. McKinney. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 50 E.
