YORK James "Squalla" Wright, 42, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, January 7, 2013. He was the loving fiance of Amelia Jackson. Born March 17, 1970, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late James Harper and Rosalie Wright Brinkley. In addition to his fiance, he is survived by five sons, Matthew Beaver, Angel "Tone" Beaver, Marcel Beaver, Tyler Grimes, and Trevor Grimes and a daughter, Ebony Grimes all of York. James also leaves four sisters, Denise Harding of York, Delores Hesterbey, Donna Hesterbey, and Deborah Hesterbey of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and three brothers, Kevin Harper, Mario Harper of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Daren Wright of York. He loved his five grandchildren and any time that he was able to spend with them. They are Destiny Wright, Jessica Wright, Jazmyne Wright, Anthony Beaver, and Amaya Wright, all of York. James also leaves a very special nephew, Majid Bashir, of York, as well as a host of many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Hawkins. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend James' funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Emmanuel COGIC. Officiating will be Pastor William B. Harding of House of Prayer and Praise COGIC. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Gladfelter Funeral Home, York, is in charge of arrangements.
