John A.C. Kindig

YORK John A. C. Kindig, 88, entered into rest Thursday, July 4, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Mary E. Kindig for 65 years. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Rose Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Starr officiating. Full military rites will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A procession to the grave will form at the cemetery entrance at 10:45 a.m. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., East York, is assisting the family. Mr. Kindig was born January 13, 1925, in York, a son of the late Charles E. and Grace E. (Ferree) Kindig. He retired as a Supervisor from Borg Warner Corp. following 42 years of service and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a 1942M graduate of William Penn Senior High School. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows York Lodge 74, the Victory AA, and the 25 Year Club of Borg Warner. John is survived by his wife; children, Craig A. Kindig and his wife, Regina, and Cathy Breeden and her husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Christopher, Megan, and Jennifer Kindig, and Lauren and Lia Breeden; and nieces and nephews. He was the last-surviving of six children, Harold Kindig, Anna Mae Parker, Arlene Hurst, Charles Kindig, Jr., and Patricia Dove.
