John C. Hollinger

YORK John C. Hollinger, 80, died Thursday, December 13, 2012, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Delores M. (Stover) Hollinger. He had been the husband of Rosemary Holtzinger. A viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 301 W. Philadelphia St., York. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Craig Newton officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Roth's Trinity U.C.C. Cemetery with full military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, is assisting the family. Mr. Hollinger was born October 12, 1932, in York, a son of the late Charles Craver, and Grace I. (Leister) Hollinger. He was a carpenter for 44 years. He was a past President of Carpenters Union Local #191. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. He loved to discuss construction and family home remodeling projects he completed in the York area. John is survived by his son, Richard A. Hollinger and his wife, Kimberly of York; two grandsons, Matthew, and Derek and his fiancee, Kate Weimer; a great-granddaughter, Emmalynn; and a sister, Roberta Kutsch. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven J. Hollinger, and a brother, Dale R. Hollinger. Memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein U.M. Church, 301 W. Philadelphia St., York, PA 17401.
