John C. Mueller Sr.

YORK John C. ""Jack"" Mueller, Sr., 86, died on November 28, 2012 at Manor Care – South. He was the husband of the late Isabel R. (Zimmerman) Mueller. He was born in Lancaster County, on May 8, 1926. He retired from the York City Police Department as a lieutenant and he also worked as a courier for the York Bank. Jack was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Hayshire United Church of Christ, a life member of the Shiloh American Legion Post 791, The Hawk Gunning Club. Jack was also a member of the Zeredatha Lodge 451 F&AM, the York Forest #30, Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He was an avid hunter and bowler. Jack is survived by two sons, John C. Mueller, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia J. of East Berlin, and James M. Mueller and his partner, Kenneth Avila of Mims, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Simone A. Keefer and her husband Joseph of Dover. A funeral service will be held Monday, ecember 3, 2012, at Noon at Hayshire United Church of Christ 100 Haybrook Drive, York with the Rev. Edward A. Dickel officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until Noon Monday at the church. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
