Schanberger RED LION Karen F. (Wolfe) Schanberger, 53, entered into rest unexpectedly at 7:05 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at her residence. She was the wife of David K. Schanberger, whom she married on August 12, 1989. She was born in Baltimore, Md., on January 30, 1959, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Geneva B. (Lyerly) Wolfe. Karen worked as a computer records analyst at Harford County Government, retiring in 2010 after 14 years of service. She was a member and former treasurer of Maryland Classified Employee Association. In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by two daughters, Rachel E. Schanberger of Red Lion and fiance, Sean Hinkle, and Sarah Schanberger (Derek Frey) of Glen Rock; a son, Joshua P. Hunt of Kent Island, Md.; two grandchildren, Elliott A. Frey and Sophia E. Hinkle; and a sister, Paula Subock of East Prospect. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gwen Braden There will be a viewing from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, followed by a 7 p.m. service. The Rev. David D. Tietje, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, Red Lion, will officiate. Burial will be private in Red Lion Cemetery and at the convenience of the family. Karen was a hard worker and dedicated to her family. Others always came first in her life. She will be sadly missed by all of her many family and friends.
