Kenneth L. Aldinger Sr.

YORK Kenneth L. Aldinger, Sr., 71, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Manor Care Health Services Kingston Court. He was the husband of Chong K. (Kim) Aldinger. Kenneth was affectionately known as "Sarge" to his many friends. Ken was born in York, on February 16, 1943, a son of the late Kenneth A. and Mary Ellen (Sinner) Aldinger. Ken retired as a master machinist with BMY/United Defense after 31 years of employment. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a graduate of West York Area High School. Sarge was a life member of West York VFW Post 8951. He loved golf, cards, and most of all, his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Yoshiko and Ann; three sons, Kenneth Jr., John, and George; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Lois Immel; and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald Nolder. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with graveside military rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
