Larry Ray Wilt

GOODLETTESVILLE, TN Larry Ray Wilt, 70, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Ann (Bixler) Wilt. Born in York, on June 20, 1942, he was the youngest son of the late Carl and Edna Wilt. In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory four children, Tori Wilt, Larry Wilt, II and his companion, Danette, Brandy Wilt and his wife, Reta, and Mindy Manley and her husband, Chris. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Ryan Hollingsworth and his companion, Laurel, Jackson Wilt, and Brody and Brayden Wilt. All of Larry's immediate family reside in or near Goodlettesville, Tenn. Also left to cherish his memory are his brother, Glenn Wilt and his wife, Bess of York, and extended family. Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Dean Wilt and Dale Wilt, both of York. Larry grew up in York. He loved spending time with his three brothers. Many funny stories have been passed down of the four Wilt boys and their antics. He was president of his graduating class from William Penn High School in 1960. He owned and operated a barbershop on E. Market Street. Larry was very active in the York Soap Box Derby. He moved his family to Nashville, Tenn., in 1972 to publish a magazine. After a few years, he pursued other endeavors. He is a published author and was an avid gardener. Larry was known for his courageous, positive spirit and sunny disposition. He was a friend to everyone and could lift anyone's spirits with his sense of humor and fun-loving personality. His greatest legacy is his family and his inspirational love for them will sustain them through this difficult time.
