Lawrence Hubbert

STEWARTSTOWN Lawrence "Larry" Hubbert, 62, formerly of Parkton, Md., died Tuesday, August 28, 2912, in West Palm Beach, Fla. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 13, at 3 p.m. at the home of Sam and Theresa Hall, 21305 Ridge Road, Freeland, 21053, with military rites performed by the Parkton American Legion Post 256. The J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc. of New Freedom is assisting the family. Born August 18, 1950, in Elkton (Cecil County), Md., Larry was the son of the late Edward C., Sr. and Edith L. (Simpers) Hubbert. Larry was a 1968 graduate of Hereford High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war between 1968-1972. Larry retired from Verizon in 2010 following 37 years of service. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and New Freedom VFW Post 7012. Surviving are a daughter, Ashley N. Hall of East Berlin; a son, Jeremy R. Hubbert of Parkton, Md.; grandaughters, Ellie, Grace, and Carleigh; a brother, Ed Hubbert, Jr. of Parkton, Md.; a sister, Joann Winneberger of Bradenton, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Hubbert.
