Maria Lehigh

YORK Maria (Nickl) Lehigh, 87, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013, at her home. She was the wife of Edward R. Lehigh whom she married 65 years ago on July 13, 1947. Mrs. Lehigh was born December 26, 1925, in Germany and was the daughter of the late Theresia Nickl and Schreiner Ludwig Mittner. She worked for the former East Prospect Bank in East Prospect. She was a former member of the Pleasureville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; a former member of Pleasureville United Methodist Church and their Senior Fellowship. She was a member of Mountain Grove Chapel, Dover. In addition to her husband, Edward, Maria is survived by her daughter, Susan Billet of York; her twin sons, Steven Lehigh and his wife, Pam of York and Richard Lehigh and his wife, Lori, of York; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and her two brothers, Hansi Mittner and Sepp Mittner, both of Germany. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2013 at York First Church of God, 503 Vander Ave., York. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m., Thursday at the church. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Glenn Detter. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
