Marie Etzweiler Warner

Warner YORK Marie Etzweiler Warner, 102, died Monday, October 1, 2012, at Country Meadows-Leader Heights. She was the wife of the late Jesse B. Warner and the late Marlyn D. Etzweiler. Born February 9, 1910, in Wrightsville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Minnie (Gohn) Dissinger. Marie began her teaching career in a one room school house at Bittersville and later taught first, second, and third grades at Hellam Elementary School. She was also a substitute teacher in the Eastern School District. Marie was a 1928 graduate of Wrightsville High School and a 1930 graduate of Millersville State College, now Millersville University. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, The Woman's Club of York, and had been a long time member of the Country Club of York. She was a life member of the Columbia Chapter No. 366 O.E.S. Marie enjoyed bowling, golf, bridge, and her cottage at Long Level. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie is survived by a son, M. Robert Etzweiler and his wife, Andrea, and daughter, Sandra E. Brillhart and her husband, Joseph, all of York; five grandchildren, Robert D. Etzweiler, Ashlee G. Etzweiler, and Shannon E. Kapsak and her husband, Wade, all of York, Aaron M. Brillhart and his wife, Jamie of Stowe, Vt., and Cara B. Shields and her husband, Steven of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepgranddaughter, Angie Alwine Vegan and her husband, David of Charlestown, Mass.; and five great-grandchildren, Caroline Doll, Danielle and Michael Kapsak, and Lila and Anna Brillhart. She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn A. Beck. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Richard B. Starr officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wrightsville. A viewing will be held Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
