Mary Ann Walsh

YORK Mary Ann Walsh, 88, of York Township, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012, at York Hospital. She was the wife of James W. Walsh. Born March 1, 1924, in Erie, she was the only child of the late Leo and Loretta (Ebach) Harrison. Mrs. Walsh was a graduate of Mercyhurst College, earning two Bachelor's Degrees in Business Education and Elementary Education. After graduating with her second degree, she taught school until the time of her marriage. She was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, the Junior League of York, and The Country Club of York. During the time that her children attended Saint Patrick's School, she had been an active volunteer in the School Library. In addition to her husband of 60 years, Mrs. Walsh is survived by a daughter, Catherine L. Frisse and her husband, Dr. Mark Frisse of Saint Louis, Mo.; two sons, James L. Walsh and his long time companion, Cindy Kaplan of Galloway, N.J., and Matthew T. Walsh and his partner, Jeff Olander of Dardenne, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Frisse, Ann Catherine Frisse, Gianna Olander-Walsh, and Savahnah Olander-Walsh. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2102, at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, 231 S. Beaver St., York, with The Rev. Samuel E. Houser as celebrant. Viewing will be 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York (the former Hahn Home}). A Rosary Service will be held at 4:15 p.m. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Patrick's School, 235 S.
