Mary Jane Markle

YORK Mary Jane Markle, 73, died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the York Hospital. She was the wife of James M. Markle. The couple observed their 53rd wedding anniversary on August 8, 2012. She was a graduate of Spring Grove High School Class of 1957 and retired from York Barbell. Her hobby was her grandchildren, and she enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Born in York New Salem, on April 12, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Pauline (Rengier) Schrum. In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters, Lori J. Reeser and her husband, Seth of Manchester, and Kelly L. Peters and her companion, Scott Brenner of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Tanner and Tyler Peters, and Jordan and Rachel Reeser, and a brother, Richard Schrum of Hanover. She was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Heltebridle. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the Koller Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 2000 W. Market St. in York. The service will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Officiating will be the Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach of Springvale United Methodist Church in Red Lion.
