Melvin G. Ruppert

YORK Melvin Glenn Ruppert, 78, of Conewago Township, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at his residence. He was the husband of Ruth V. (Nunn) Ruppert. Mr. and Mrs. Ruppert observed their 57th wedding anniversary on July 11, 2012. Melvin was born in East Berlin, on August 31, 1934, a son of the late Melvin and Reba (Weidner) Ruppert. He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 1994 as a machine operator. Melvin loved to hunt and ride his Harley. He also raised horses on their farm. In addition to his wife, Mel is survived by two daughters, Tina Wolcott and husband, Scott, and Sherry Schriver and companion, Steve Gearhart, all of York; a son, Scott Ruppert of Newport Richey, Fla.; two granddaughters, Jessica DiGristine and husband, Christopher, and Rachael Ruppert; a stepgrandson, Jesse Wolcott; two great-grandsons, Dominick and Anthony DiGristine; and a brother, Charles Ruppert of East Berlin. He was preceded in death by three sisters. A private funeral service will be at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service of York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
