Melvin H. Miller

YORK Melvin H. Miller, 81, of West Manchester Township, died at 6:42 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at Normandie Ridge. He was the husband of Flo E. (Ritz) Miller. Born August 12, 1932, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Arty and Thelma (Luckman) Miller, he retired in 1994 from Met-Ed after 32 years of employment. He had also worked for Gordon L. Brown and Associates for many years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was an active member of Saint Stephens United Church of Christ, where he also served on the Consistory as well as the Church Archive. He was also a member of the York County Heritage Trust, and was a charter member and historian of West Manchester Township Historical Society, and charter member of the Dover Historical Society. He was a former member of the Perry County Historical Society. In addition to his wife of 59 years, Mr. Miller is survived by a daughter, Dr. Wendy L. Miller of York; a son, Michael L. Miller and his wife, Melanie of York Haven; and three grandchildren, Traci L. Miller and her husband, Jeremy, Regan Miller, and Logan Miller. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles R. Miller. Funeral services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Saint Stephens United Church of Christ, 1569 W. Market St., York, with his pastor, The Rev. W. Arthur Grahe, officiating. A reception with the family will immediately follow the services. Graveside services will be 12 noon Monday, April 14, 2014, at Shiloh Cemetery, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. William E.
