Mervin H. Stough

YORK Mervin H. Stough, 80, of Windsor Township, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Loretta J. (Wambaugh) Stough. Mr. and Mrs. Stough observed their 57th wedding anniversary on October 22, 2012. Merv was born in Hellam, on November 26, 1932, a son of the late Warren D. and Mary (Zellers) Stough. He retired as a machinist from Caterpillar, Inc. after 33 1/2 years and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. His memberships include Fairmount United Methodist Church, Hawk Gunning Club, and the York County Fire Police. Mervin was a life member of the Pleasureville Fire Company and a coach for the Pleasureville EYC baseball team. Following his retirement from Caterpillar, he served as a courier for the former Dauphin Deposit. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael L. Stough and wife, Wanda of York; a daughter, Beth Ann Hiemenz and husband, Terrence of Grand Island, Fla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Stough and wife, Christine of Marshall, Mich. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. Officiating will be his pastor, Pastor John W. Bell. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
