Paul A. Moley

YORK Paul Anthony Moley passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the age of 83 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Born in Ybor City in Tampa, Fla., on June 4, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph and Minnie (Alfano). Paul is survived by his wife, Lois (Strobeck) with whom he recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by sister, Josie Witman of York and brother, Joe of Tampa, Fla. He was preceded in passing by his sister, Angie Concino and brother, Emmanuel. Paul is survived by two sons, Stephen and wife Lisa of Camp Hill, and Anthony and wife Cathie of York. He was preceded in passing by his son, Philip whose wife Gail still resides in Dover. Paul will be sadly missed by his six grandchildren, Lisa Bisek of Longmont, Colo., Donna Pratte and Matt Moley of Philadelphia, Vince Moley of York, and Marlee and Andrew Moley of Dover. He was the grandfather to three step-grandchildren, Allison Zook of Mass., Katie Shroeder of New York, and Corey Flynn of Utah; as well as great-grandfather of Benjamin, Ryan, and Sophia Pratte. In addition, he has many nieces, nephews, and cousins scattered throughout York and across the US. Paul was a lifelong entrepreneur, and in 1957 opened his first restaurant, Moley's Spaghetti House, followed by Moley's Restaurant, both in Red Lion. He also established Moley's Pizza at the York Fair over 50 years ago. Paul's final venture was Anthony's Restaurant on Rt. 30 in York. Prior to health concerns, Paul was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, billiards player, and handyman. He was known for his enthusiasm, story-telling, and jokes. Paul was also a longtime member of the Red Lion Country Club, Red Lion Elks Club, and Victory AA Club of York. A public viewing will be held at John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, on Sunday, April 7th from 6 to 9 p.m. An additional viewing will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 8th prior to the Memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. at the same location.
