Peggy J. Sipe

MOUNT WOLF Peggy J. (Kohler) Sipe, 75, passed away at 2 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Hospice and Community Care in Lancaster. She was the wife of Frederick C. Sipe, Jr., to whom she was married 45 years. Peggy was born July 27, 1937, in Siddonsburg, and was the daughter Virginia (Dill) (Kohler) Thevenin of Okeechobee, Fla., and the late Amos Kohler. She was raised by the late Samuel and Nellie Wolford. In 1955 she graduated from William Penn High School in York. She worked at Manor Care Kingston Court in York and Manor Care in Lebanon. She was a member of Saginaw Community Church in Saginaw. In addition to her husband, Fred, Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Margaret Bowers of Hellam, and Wanda Orndorff and her husband, Roy of New Oxford; her son, Michael Gettys of Manchester; three grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, and Adam; one great-granddaughter, Ava; and her two sisters, Alverda Schnell and Betty Krater. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marianne; and her brothers, Robert and Dale. Her funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Officiating at her service will be her pastor, The Rev. Jeffrey Wilt, from Saginaw Community Church.
