Philip H. Hoke

YORK Philip H. Hoke, 85, died May 8, 2013, at 6:38 p.m. at manor Care Health Services- South. He was the husband of Sadie Lee M. (McDonald) Hoke of York. Philip and Lee celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on March 5, 2013. He was born June 14, 1927, in York a son of the late Samuel and Marie (Zarfoss) Hoke. Mr. Hoke was the manager of the former Seven Valleys Garment Factory for about 20 years and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail encoder. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He was a 1943 graduate of William Penn Sr. H.S. and a 1949 graduate of Rider College, where he received a BS in Accounting. He was a member of the York Bible Church. In addition to his loving wife Lee, Philip is survived by, a brother, Gail H. Hoke and his wife, Sammi of Wayne; two nieces; and a nephew. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday May 16, 2013 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church 947 N. George St., York, with Rev. Beth A. Schlegel, Pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, and Rev. David Sutter, Pastor of York Bible Church, officiating. A viewing will be held from 12 p.m. till the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Full Military Rites at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to York Bible Church P.O.
