Robert L. Stambaugh

YORK Robert L.Stambaugh, 83, was called to heaven by his Lord Jesus, on Friday, December 20, 2013, from ManorCare Kingston. He was the husband of Virginia (Stottlemyer) Stambaugh with whom he shared 61 years of marriage, Born on October 21, 1930, he was the son of the late Alverna (Brenneman) and Charles W. Stambaugh. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Robert built boilers for Donnelly Technology (formerly Shipley) and was a welder for Campbell Chain. He was a complete family man-family was very important to him. He enjoyed baseball games. His greatest legacy was his love for God and his family. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Debra Eckert and Robin Sharp (husband Philip); grandchildren, Kristin, Michele, Ryan, Aaron, Nathan; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssa, Chase, Brady, Cole and Makenna; siblings, Mary Dravk, Grace Bear, Phyllis Henise, Jean Frizzie, Arthur Stambaugh, all of York, and George Stambaugh of Landisville. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St. and on Friday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. The Celebration of Life Service Will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to a or the .
