Robert L. Urey

FELTON Robert L. "Boog" Urey, 67, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the son of Janet (Urey) Overmiller and the stepson of the late Robert Overmiller of Felton. Boog was a 1966 graduate of Red Lion Area Senior High School, and entered into the U.S. Army after graduating. He served his country proudly in Vietnam as a military police officer. Boog was an active member of the Red Lion VFW Post 1446, where he had served as Post Commander, and Red Lion American Legion Post 543. An avid sports fan, Boog played and managed Susquehanna League baseball in his younger days. He was a fan of the New York Mets, Indianapolis Colts, and NASCAR. He retired from Standard Register after 40 years of service. Boog is survived by his mother, Janet; three brothers, Keith Overmiller and wife, Wendy of York, Kevin Overmiller and wife, Elaine of Red Lion, and Brian Overmiller of Felton; a sister, Kathy Seaks and husband, Barry of Felton; three children, Jason Urey and wife, Marla of Brogue, Bridgette Urey and fiance, Dallas of Red Lion, and Brandon Urey and wife, Brandi of Red Lion; two stepdaughters, Samantha Achey and husband, Jeff of Lebanon, and Sarah Warner and husband, Josh of York; nine grandchildren, Eric, Olivia, Masen, Owen, Nicholas, Carson, Delaney, Harper, and Peyton; four stepgrandchildren, Nathaniel, Tyler, Samara, and Ava; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Enfield; and two nephews, Jim Enfield and Derrik Overmiller. Boog was truly one of a kind. He had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and never sweated the small stuff. A gentle giant, Bob, Ol' Hip, Boog - whatever you wanted to call him - would answer with a smile that was infectious, and a personality that you couldn't resist. "For never before in story or rhyme, Not even once upon a time Has the world ever known a you, my friend And it never will, not ever again..." A memorial service for family and friends will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Round Hill Presbyterian Church, 7362 Church Road, Cross Roads, PA 17322.
