Stanley J. Tubbs

DOVER Stanley J. "Stan" Tubbs, 61, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Rauhauser) Tubbs with whom he celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on June 18th. Mr. Tubbs was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, on October 29, 1951, son of the late Winford and Golda (Hillyard) Tubbs. Stan honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a burner for Magnesita Refractories Co., York for 24 years. He was a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post 791. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Megan N. Tubbs, Justin R. Tubbs and Amanda M. Tubbs, all of Dover; one granddaughter, Hannah J. Tubbs; one brother and five sisters; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012, at Salem United Church of Christ, 2705 W. Canal Rd., Dover. Officiating will be, the Rev. Ruthann Seibert. Final resting place will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American , 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603. Arrangements were entrusted to the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., York (Shiloh).
