Thelma M. Walker

YORK Thelma M. Walker, 96, died Friday, October 5, 2012, at Autumn House East. She was the wife of the late Raymond D. Walker. A viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasureville United Methodist Church, 2606 N. Sherman St. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Eddie Miller officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is assisting the family. Mrs. Walker was born November 25, 1915, in York, a daughter of the late Clarence and Tillie (Miller) Lehr. She had been employed at Danskin, Jayson Shirt Factory, and the Naval Ordnance Plant. She was a 50 year member of Pleasureville United Methodist Church and a member of the church choir for several years. She had also been a volunteer at the West Side Hospital. Thelma is survived by her sons Raymond D. Walker, Jr., Richard L. Walker and his wife, Lisa, Larry A. Walker, William A. Walker, Sr. and his wife, Wanda, all of York, and Dwight J. Walker and his wife, Bonnie of Jacksonville, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Dahlheimer of Ocala, Fla.; and a brother, Ellis Lehr of York. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Walker. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasureville United Methodist Church, 2606 N.
