Vernon E. Banks Jr.

YORK Vernon Edward Banks, Jr. 58, entered into the presence of God on Friday, November 16, 2012, from his home. Born on January 22, 1954, in York, he was the son of Vernon Edward Banks, Sr., of York and the late Betty Jane (Joseph) Banks. He was a graduate of William Penn Sr. High. He was fondly called Eddie and "Enoc". Vernon enjoyed family, his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was a regular at Downtown McDonalds and an avid Pittsburgh Steeler's fan. He leaves to cherish his memory, father, Vernon Edward Banks of York; siblings, Wanda Banks of York, Charles Banks and wife, Bobbi of Lancaster, Geneva Banks and companion, Archie, Crystal Washington, Kieth Banks and companion, Tina, Dawn Brown and husband, Ken, Ginny Sue Williams and husband, Charron, all of York, Vernice Kenny and husband, Curtis, of Harleyville S.C., and Renee Friend of York; a special brother, Larry Seabrook, a sister-in-law, Marlyna Banks, and two uncles, Thomas Banks and James "Jimmy" Banks, all of York; two aunts, Florine Breeland of Jacobus and Anna Carter of York; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by siblings, Juanita Banks, Marlin Banks; and a nephew, Dereck Sease. A celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Shekinah Worship Center, 128 S. Belvidere Ave., (Corner of Poplar and Belvidere), Pastor Lafawn Wilson will be officiating. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., entrusted with arrangements.
