Vincent H. Plowman

MOUNT WOLF Vincent H. Plowman, 84, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 5:20 p.m. at his residence. He was the husband of Anna M. (Kaphammer) Plowman. Born November 29, 1929, in Altoona, a son of the late Harry and Emma (Delozier) Plowman, he had served in the U.S. Army and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in the downtown York location after 32 years of employment. He was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in York. In addition to his wife of 62 years, Mr. Plowman is survived by two daughters, Denise M. Reidy and her husband Irvin, of Tampa, Fla., and Lisa L. Williams and her husband Randy, of Dover; six grandchildren, Jason Hagens and his wife Amy, of Mount Wolf, Jessica Fazekas, Kristina Reidy-Fonseca, Janette Kopp, Jerod Hagens, and Jolene Hagens; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne, Curt, and Blaine Plowman; and a sister, Patricia Geist. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Ronald, and Charles Plowman; and two sisters, Regina Tate and Rita Crumm. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, 231 S. Beaver St., York, with the Rev. Keith Carroll as Celebrant. Viewing will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial White Rose Hospice, 1412 Sixth Avenue, York PA 17403.
