William A. Stephenson

Stephenson YORK William A. Stephenson, 74, of Spring Garden Township, passed away at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Joyce E. (Bryant) Stephenson. Born October 20, 1938, in San Diego, Calif., a son of the late Robert L. and Juanita (Bethel) Stephenson, he was a 1957 graduate of Hoover High School in San Diego. He served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 20 years, retiring in 1979. He recently joined the York County Honor Guard to honor those who also served this country. He attended Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, and spent many years studying the Bible and enjoyed sharing with others the hope found in Jesus Christ. He enjoyed bowling, golf, reading, and eating at Cracker Barrel. Mr. Stephenson is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Stephenson and Catherine Stephenson, both of Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Paul Stephenson of Sacramento; three stepsons, Phillip B. Eubanks and his wife, Bobby of York, Jeffrey W. Eubanks and his wife, Yvonne of Saint Louis, Mo., and Russell C. Eubanks and his wife, Dr. Rhonda Eubanks of Evansville, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
