William C. King Jr.

YORK William C. King, Jr., 74, entered into rest at 5:37 a.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of the late Carol J. (Herman) King. Born January 9, 1939, in Dallastown, he was a son of the late William C. King, Sr. and Mildred A. (Ness) King Groff. William was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked for Ramshead Wire in York for 27 years and retired from Insulation Applicators, York. Following retirement, William worked part-time for Archetype Frameless Glass in Harrisburg. He was a member of the Viking Athletic Association and Shiloh American Legion Post 791. William enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid NASCAR and football fan. He is survived by a son, Scott T. King and wife, Debra of York; grandsons, Travis King and wife, Tonya, and Lance King and wife, Katelynn; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Blake, and Jemma; a sister, Anna Rannels of York; seven brothers, Barry, Allen, James, and Ronald King, and Phillip, Joe, and Robin Groff, all of York; numerous nieces, nephew,s and extended family; and his beloved dog and best friend, Jake. In addition to his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by a brother, Paul King. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend William's funeral at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, and the viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens where veteran's honors will be presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be Pastor Kent Vandervort of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene. The family requests casual attire.
