Stanley Michalak Obituary

Stanley Michalak, 77, died Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Connie Michalak, with whom he celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary November 27th. Born August 29, 1926 in Poland, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Antonina (Chlebek) Michalak. He immigrated to the United States in 1966 with his family. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1530 and White Rose Polka Club. Mr. Michalak was a retired carpenter. He leaves his sons, Walter Michalak, Sr., Nicholas Michalak, III and Jerry Michalak, Sr., all of Dover; his daughters, Stella Gobrecht, Hanover, Julia Mummert, Harrisburg, Janet Thomas, York, and Sophia Robbins, Dover. He is also survived by sisters, Janet Zelasko, Poland, and Julia Liscinski, California; 17 grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church, 231 South Beaver Street, York. A viewing will be held preceding the funeral beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Suburban Memorial Gardens, Bull Road, Dover. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 231 South Beaver Street, York, PA 17403. John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, , is in charge of arrangements.

It was Gary and my great pleasure to know Mr. Michalak and enjoy many events with their familes. He was a joy to be around. They are a very loving family and I'm sure Mr. Michalak will be greatly missed. He always had a smile for everyone.

Our prayers and sympathy goes out to everyone in their family.

It was my pleasure to help take care of Mr. Michalak while he was in Memorial. I enjoyed the talks about Poland and also helping Mr. Michalak with his morning shave. He will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of sorrow and need.
