Jacob Cluck Obituary

Jacob H. Cluck, 84, of Country Meadows at Leader Heights, died Wednesday June 28, 2006, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mildred E. (Miller) Cluck. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2006, at the funeral home with the Rev. David Danneberger and the Rev. Dennis E. Fulk officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with military rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Cluck was born July 4, 1921, in Fairfield, a son of the late Norman T. and Myrtle A. (Weichert) Cluck. He retired from the quality assurance department of York Casket. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1981 as a Major with more than 30 years of service. Jacob was a master woodworker and a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, VFW Post 8951 in West York, the Military Officers Association, and the American Legion Post 791 in Shiloh. He was also a member of the German American Society Alpenrose and the AARP Chapter 1578 in West York. Mr. Cluck is survived by four children and their spouses, Robert and Cynthia Cluck of Reston, Va., Stewart and Gayle Cluck, Frederick and Vicki Cluck, and Jacqueline and Charles Esterline, all of York; six grandchildren, Thomas J., Therese J., Jason, and Alyson Cluck, Nathan C.B. and Heidi E. Esterline; and two sisters, Mary Gross and Ruth Cluck of Gettysburg.
