Maryellen F. Hennel

YORK Maryellen F. Hennel, 77, entered into rest Monday, May 18, 2015, at York Hospital. She was the companion of Fred Markle. A visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St. The family suggests casual dress, wearing Maryellen's favorite, purple, if possible. The memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Keith Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon. Mrs. Hennel was born July 31, 1937, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late James and Frances (O'Brien) Brown. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in York and was a graduate of West Catholic High School in Philadelphia. She had been employed at the Quartermaster Corps Depot. She was a proud, lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan. Maryellen is survived by her companion; children, Phyllis D. Hennel, Stephen D. Hennel and his wife Kui-Yan, Diane J. Hennel and her companion Jim Bahr, and Paul M. Hennel; grandchildren, Stephen Hennel, Christian Hennel, Nicholas Hennel, Dallas Hennel, Brandon Hennel, and Jaden Hennel; a sister, Frances M. Glassmire; granddogs, Wolfie, Harley, and Khyra. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Brown.
