I First met Rick when I transferred from York High to West York. He was a 98 pound wrestler who we converted to a basketball fan. I Played with Rick on many summer and winter bball leagues over the years and was an intense competitor who never had any problem standing up to my bullheadedness. Will be greatly missed.

I met Rick about 20 years ago when our sons started playing basketball together. We became friends, and for a number of years worked together. Through the course of his illness, I never heard him talk about giving up. Rick was an example of courage to me, and I am honored that he was my friend.

I met Rick at Shelly Park where we played many hours of basketball with the Shelly Park crew. Recently in the fall of 2013, we played together in a 45 and older basketball league at Spooky Nook in Lancaster with some former Shelly Park players(Cozzens, Triggs, Hinnecamp). Rick played great and was the league's leading 3 point shooter as we won the championship. Rick was a great friend and teammate in the Game of Life. We will miss him so very much!

We met in the summer of 1968. He had moved to York and was going to be going to West York, I was going to be transferring to West York. We became fast friends especially once we had every class together in Jr. High. We especially shared a love for basketball and in those early days he became known as Artis. I will always treasure his spirit in the memories of the MANY times we shared. We all have lost someone special and I have lost a brother.
