Ralph W. Poff

RED LION Ralph W. Poff, 90, died at his home on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. He was the husband of the late O'dell H. (Hake) Poff. Born in York County on November 27, 1920, he was the son of the late Earl and Virgie (Hilt) Poff. Ralph was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving during WWII. He was a sergeant and served in the China-Burma-India Theatre. He retired from the York City Post Office and previously worked for York Corp. Ralph was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School and was a member of York Bible Church. He is survived by a son, Ralph W. Poff, II and his wife, Brenda of Dallastown; a daughter, Bonita Winey and her husband, Michael of Mechanicsburg; a granddaughter, Rebekah Ranostay and her husband, Jim of Akron, Ohio; and a grandson, Robert Winey of Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 10, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. David E. Sutter, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
