YORK A. Richard "Dick" Culver, 96, died at 9:25 a.m. Sunday at Normandie Ridge. He was the husband of the late Betty I. (Hartzell) Culver. Born September 7, 1916, in Laurel, Delaware, a son of the late Albert E. and Nellie (Cooper) Culver, he was a graduate of Lehigh University and had attended Peirce College in Philadelphia. He was owner of Temporary Help of York, and prior to that was employed at York-Borg Warner. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, enjoyed carpentry. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving under General George S. Patton. Mr. Culver is survived by his daughter, Karen C. Brosey, and her husband, Buzz, of York; two grandchildren, Kristen Hamel, and her husband, Brendan, and Nathan Brosey, and his wife, Sheri; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Stewart, Paige Stewart, Garth Stewart and Sarah Hamel. A fifth great granddaughter is expected in a month. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Culver. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 E. Market St., with his Pastor, The Rev. Yvette B. Davis, officiating.
