YORK Adam S. Barton, Sr., 92, entered the presence of God on November 29, 2013, from the York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Kathryn I. "Miss Kay" Barton, who passed on February 23, 2012. Born on December 19, 1920, in York County, he was the son of the late Rose and Dewey Barton. Mr. Barton honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a mason for York Septic. He is survived by four children, Adam S. Barton, Jr., Dawn F. Burton, Kaye DeLauder, and Guy Warren, Jr., all of York; 25 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughters, Judy Roseana Barton, Brenda Green, and his best dog buddy, Cyrus. The viewing will be on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 East Market St., York. The service will begin at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Darnell Bowman officiating. Graveside services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
