MARIENVILLE Barbara E. Miller, 86, of Forest County, died at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Snyder Memorial Health Center in Marienville. Born December 5, 1927, in Brea, California, a daughter of the late Joseph Glen and Aramitta (Sentz) Crook, she was a graduate of Dallastown High School and Thompson's Business School. She had worked for 15 years at Strine Printing, and was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown, as well as a Girl Scout Leader in Dallastown. The most important thing in her life was her children whom she loved so very much. They are what she lived for. She was preceded in death by three of her four children. Donald R. Miller, who served in the U.S. Air Force, was a graduate of Duquesne University, and was the Director of Pharmacy at Saint Clair Hospital. He married Gay Lynn Miller, also of York, and lived in Bethel Park. Grant A. Miller, who attended Dallastown Area High School, graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School. He also graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He resided in York at the time of his death. And, Suzanne E. Miller, who was born with Spina Bifida, graduated from York County's special school for the handicapped. She had been selected as a poster child for the York County . Barbara's surviving daughter, Lisa L. Miller, graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Criminology and served as a Police Officer for five years before becoming a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation where she met her husband, Michael Barbery, while working in the Washington Field Office. She is retired after 25 years of service and resides in Manassas, Virginia. Barbara is also survived by her former husband, Raymond E. Miller, and his wife Gail, of York; and four grandchildren, Bryan Miller, and his wife Megan, Kelly Beckadic, and her husband Michael, Kirk Auman, and his wife Katie, and Brandon Barbery. A great grand daughter, Olive Lynn is expected soon. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Howard Crook. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
