STEWARTSTOWN Charles H. "Chub" Moser, 75, died May 5, 2014, at his home. Any services will be at the convenience of the family. Charles was born February 21, 1939, in Gatchelville, a son of the late Edward F. and Lucy (Clark) Moser. He was the husband of C. Ruth (Vaught) Moser. He retired from PennDot in 1995 after 25 years of service. Chub was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Benedict Meade V.F.W. Post 7046 and Stewart American Legion Post 455, both of Stewartstown, for over 55 years and served with their Honor Guard for many years. During the mid 1980s Chub founded a bluegrass band known as the "Bald Eagle Express", where he enjoyed singing and playing guitar. Chub and his wife Ruth celebrated 31 years of marriage this past February. Charles is survived by his wife, C. Ruth (Vaught) Moser, Stewartstown; daughter, Julie Crouse and her husband Victor, Stewartstown; step-son, Todd Lanius and his wife Crystal, Stewartstown; four grandchildren, Jennie Crouse, Jill Crouse Wolf, Josh and Jason Lanius; six great-grandchildren, Trevor, Chance, Carter, Connor, Kailyn and Braydyn; three sisters, Nancy Gross and Edna Torbert, both of Fawn Grove, and Edith Gross, Manchester, Md. He was predeceased by a step-son, Dirk M. Lanius. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eureka Volunteer Fire Co. and Ambulance Club, P.O. Box 457, Stewartstown, PA 17363.
