DALLASTOWN David I. "Doc" Boykin, 31, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Funeral service is to be held on Monday, February 18, at 12 noon from J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, with the Rev. Melissa A. McDade officiating. Viewing will take place on Sunday at the mortuary from 3 to 5 p.m. and on Monday from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Stewartstown Cemetery with full military honors by the York Country Veterans Honor Guard. Born May 16, 1981, in Harrisonburg, Va., David was the son of Glen R. Boykin, Jr. and Kathryn L. (Sigafoose) Boykin. David attended Susquehannock High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Bimax, Inc., Glen Rock, as a Chemical Process Operator. David enjoyed snowboarding, running, working out, and motorcycle riding. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancee, Jessica Moffitt Barsotti; a daughter, Elizabeth Virginia; two brothers, Aaron M. Boykin of Dallastown and Stephen D. Boykin of Charleston, S.C. David and Jessica are expecting a child in August.
