ABBOTTSTOWN Denzel J. Ash, 88, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City. He was the husband of the late Jean E. (Barnhart) Ash who died May 21, 1998. Denzel was born June 4, 1924, in Renick Valley, W.Va., the son of the late Cecil D. and Edith M. (Cutlip) Ash. Denzel served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater, and was a member of the East Berlin V.F.W., the American Legion, and Masonic Lodge #465 in New Oxford. Denzel is survived by a daughter, Sherry J. Blouse of East Berlin, four grandchildren; Sherry Rouscher and her husband James of Manchester, Kelly Sipling of Hanover, Albert Blouse III and his wife Kelly of Hellam, and Jared Blouse and his wife Sharlaine of San Antonio, Texas; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Roy Ash. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St., East Berlin, with Pastor Allen Joines officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery in York. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 AM until the time of the service. Military honor will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
