DOVER Donald J. Minor, 63, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Connie L. (Seitz) Minor. Donald was born March 30, 1949, in Baltimore, Md., and was the son of Daniel, Sr. and Dorothy (Guess) Minor. He was a welding fabricator for many years. Mr. Minor proudly served his country in the United States Army and the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Shiloh American Legion; Hanover V.F.W.; Eagle of Hanover; and Union Lutheran Church in York. In addition to his wife, Connie, Donald is survived by his two daughters, Melinda Mercado and her husband, Ivan of York, and Rachel Minor and her companion, Carlos Almodovar of York; three grandchildren, Janaya Minor, Savannah Mercado, and Ja'Ziah Almodovar; his four brothers, Daniel Jr., Stephen, Francis, and Dennis, all of Carroll County, Md.; and his three sisters, Barbara Shealer, Sharon Harris, and Sandy Hugg, all of Carroll County, Md. His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at The Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Friends and relatives may call for the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery with full military honors by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
