ORMOND BEACH, FL Earl C. Kepner, Jr., 79, died Sunday, March 31, 2013. Memorial service will be held at Arlington E.C. Church, 585 Lombard St., Red Lion, on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. Mr. Kepner loved his work, church, and family. He also enjoyed reading, bicycle riding, listening to music, and gardening with his wife, Brenda. Mr. Kepner, formerly of North York, was born July 28, 1933, in York. He was the son of the late Carrie Viola Shindler Kepner and Earl C. Kepner, Sr. He was a graduate of North York High School, Indiana Technical College, and Penn State University. He volunteered and served in the Army Security Agency in Germany. He was formerly employed by Bendix Corp. - York as an electronics engineer in the missile radar-fusing department. He then was employed by AMF - York in the design and production of the machines which rapidly removed all silver coins from circulation at the advent of laminated "silver" coinage. For 27 years he was employed as a Biomedical Engineer at Wellspan Health and was Asst. Director, Engineering. Mr. Kepner formerly taught night school courses in basic electronics at Penn State, York. Mr. Kepner is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Berkebile Kepner; daughters, Carol A. VanHecke and Brenda J. Kepner; stepdaughter, Mischelle L. Romesberg; a son, William E. Kepner; grandchildren, Katherine A. Kepner, Emily L. Kepner, Ian M. Drummond, Alex Drummond, and Isaiah B. Fairman; a sister, Wilma J. Kepner Brenneman; and brother, William A. Kepner. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Kepner Botterbusch.
