Edward A. Stubbs Obituary
YORK Edward A. "Tim" Stubbs, 85, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at his home. He was the companion of Norma J. (Geist) Dunklebarger. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, with the service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard, of which Mr. Stubbs was a member. Mr. Stubbs was born December 12, 1926, in York, and was the son of the late Benjamin and Lucille M. (Goodling) Stubbs. He worked for Continental Wire & Cable Co. and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans Post #35, Pleasureville American Legion Post #799, Military Order of the Cootie, and the Prince A.A., and a lifetime member of the White Rose VFW Post #556, where he was a former service officer. Mr. Stubbs is survived by his companion; two daughters, Deborah F. Copp and husband, Richard of Spring Grove, and Constance P. Raver and husband, Kevin of Dover; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three stepchildren, Patti Smith and husband, Ken, Coweta Toomey and husband, Rod, and Margaret Sweeney and husband, Ottis. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward A. Stubbs, Jr.; a sister; and three brothers.
