YORK Ellis "Ted" L. Clark, 95, entered into rest after a brief illness on Monday, February 4, 2013, at 1:12 a.m. at York Hospital. He was the husband of Kathryn E. (Raver) Clark of York to whom he was married on August 12, 1941. He was born in York on August 28, 1917, the son of the late Ross and Edna M. (Wilt) Clark. Ted was a salesman at the former Rentex Corporation in York retiring after many years of service. He was also a United States Army Veteran serving during WWII. He was a longtime and active member of Pleasant View Church where he and his wife served as caretaker of the grounds and the church cemetery. In addition to his wife, Kathryn, he leaves nine children, Gloria E. Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla., Joyce A. Ness (Sidney) of Galeton, Linda M. Cotton (Floyd) Placitas, N.M., LeRoy E. Clark ( Mary) of Red Lion, John R. Clark (Diana) of Jacksonville, Fla., Thomas E. Clark (Carol) of Red Lion, Sandra E. Farhat (John) of Jacksonville, Fla., Richard G. Clark (Kristine) of Red Lion and Carrie F. Anderson (Vince) of Felton; 19 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, David L. Johnson in 1996 and by four brothers and three sisters. There will be a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant View Church, 10384 Winterstown Rd., Red Lion. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion will be handling the arrangements. The service will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to: Pleasant View Church, 10384 Winterstown Rd, Red Lion. Ted loved and cherished his wife Kathryn with whom he celebrated 71 wonderful years of marriage, he loved his children and grandchildren who thought he was a "super dude". Ted set the bar high for his nine children and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
