ELIZABETHTOWN Frederick M. Fry, Jr., 89, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. He was the husband of the late Ferne I. Fry, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Frederick was born in York, to the late Nora and Frederick Fry, Sr. He was a graduate of William Penn High and honorably served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Frederick was in the purchasing department at Borg Warner/York International and retired after 44 years in 1985. He was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed Orioles baseball, the NFL, college league basketball, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed putting puzzles together. Frederick leaves to cherish his memory sons, Ronald and wife, Shinobu Fry of The Woodlands, Texas, and Rick and wife, Kathy Fry of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Nichole and Christopher Fry of Sanford, N.C., and Judith and husband, Gene Anderson, and April McClucas, all of Elizabethtown; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Mackayla, and Sarah Fry, all of Sanford, N.C., and Jordan, Janae, and James Anderson of Elizabethtown; and siblings, June Heaps of York and Kenneth Fry of Virginia. He was preceded in death by siblings, Doris Leese and Vincent Fry. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, followed by an 11 a.m. celebration of life service at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St., York. Pastor Charles Lindeman will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery. Full military rites will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
