MOUNT WOLF Guy F. Slaughter, Sr., 65, passed away at 3:47 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Dora (Cline) Slaughter whom he married 13 years ago on September 23, 2000. Guy was born September 29, 1948, in Charleston, W. Va. and was the son of the late Guy E. and Dorma (Neeley) Slaughter. He graduated from Mathews High School in 1967 in Viena, Ohio. He worked as a manager for Home-Depot in East York. He was a member of the Pleasureville American Legion Post 799, Wounded Warriors, and Disabled American Veterans, Chapter #28. Guy proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his wife Dora, Guy is survived by three sons, Guy F. Slaughter, Jr. and his fiancee Kimberly of Dover, Shawn Troup and his fiancee Kimberly of York, and Samuel "Duff" Zeiders of Mechanicsburg; his daughter, Shannon Budka and her fiance Fabian of Dallastown; his six grandchildren; two brothers, James Slaughter and Samuel Slaughter, both of Ohio; and his sister, Brenda Allen of Ohio. Guy was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Slaughter. His viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. The service will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be private in Fort Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery in Annville. Full military honors will be performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
