MANCHESTER Harold E. Fidler, 85, entered into rest at 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at his home. He was the husband of the late Anna Mary (Tomlison) Fidler, who passed on January 17, 2012. They were married just short of 60 years. Born May 23, 1929, in York, Harold was a son of the late Robert E. and Grace E. (Stambaugh) Fidler. Harold was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. He retired from PennDot in York, where he was a storeroom clerk. Harold was a member of St. Paul U.M. Church in Manchester and the Shiloh American Legion Post 791. Harold is survived by a son, Terry L. Fidler of Cleveland, Texas; four daughters, Connie Naylor and husband, Dave of Manchester, Carolyn Bailey and husband, Bill of York Haven, Diana Fitzkee and husband, Larry of Dover, and Elizabeth "Betsy" Barshinger and husband, Keith of Mount Wolf; nine grandchildren, Gidget Felty, Billie Jo Schaffner, Andria Biazzo, Charity Schmidt, Eric Fitzkee, Gary Barshinger, Scott Naylor, Angela Biehl, and Heaven Martin; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Jean Sanders of North Carolina. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Fidler. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Harold's graveside service at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014, at Mount Rose Cemetery, York, where veteran's honors will be presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Chuck Sprenkle.
