YORK Harry E. Hamilton, Sr., 85, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Manor Care South. He was the husband of the late Frances E. (Bragg) Hamilton. Harry was born on August 23, 1927 in Lancaster, a son of the late Percy P. and Bernice (Clark) Hamilton. He retired from Caterpillar in 1984 after 30 years of service. Harry was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII having served on the USS Helena (CA-75). He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, the West York VFW, and the Prince A. A. Harry was an avid fisherman and pinochle player. The viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (tonight) at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market St., York. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Thomas R. Hoke as the celebrant. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Harry is survived by three sons, Harry E. Hamilton Jr. husband of Linda, of York, Kenneth R. Hamilton, of Stuart Fla., Robert A. Hamilton of Emigsville; three daughters, Frances E. Hamilton of Stuart Fla., Louise E. Yingling, wife of Charlie, of Dover, and Rosemary J. Adams, wife of Mike, of Spring Grove; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Newmans of Jacksonville, Fla.
