YORK Herman L. McMillion, 86, died on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at his home. He was the husband of Evelyn J. (Heaton) McMillion of York, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage, and the late Margory H. (Wilde) McMillion. Born in Reneke, W.Va., he was the son of the late Homer H. and Bertha (Workman) McMillion. He served in Korea with the U.S. Army from 1951-1953, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lewistown Lodge. Herman was a Mechanic at Stettler Garage for 25 years. He enjoyed the mountains, fishing, nature and his wildlife animals, collecting treasures, and friends and family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Marcy J. Davis of Red Lion and Nancy McCarty of West Virginia; two brothers, Everett McMillion and Samuel Henry McMillion, both of West Virginia; a half-sister, Susan Arnold of Red Lion; his stepchildren, Gary E. Tice and wife, Cathy of Lewes, Del., Richard A. Tice and wife, Darlene of Dover, Carlene A. Strausbaugh and husband, Jed of York, Amy L. Pittinger of York, Lee E. Tice and wife, Tracy of Wrightsville, and Doug E. Tice and wife, Peggy of Pittsburgh; and nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert R. and George E.; and a sister, Mary E. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Richard Fangman officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Military service will be performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the funeral home.
