JACOBUS James H. Winters, Jr., 84 passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Janet Louise (Bull) Winters. Born December 4, 1929, in York, he was the son of the late James H. and Lottie (Huson) Winters. James was a proud veteran of the Korean War, where he served his country as a Staff Sargent in the United States Air Force. James is survived by one daughter, Janet Stiffler and husband, Russell, Jr. of Seven Valleys; three sisters, Pat Knaub, Shirl Hill, and Nancy Reisinger; three grandchildren, Melissa Kaltreider, Angela Merritt, and Patrick Stiffler, Sr.; and nine great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of James H. Winters, Jr. will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus.
