MAYTOWN John P. Kuhn, 87, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in York, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Susie (Pittinger) Kuhn. John was the husband of Beryl (Singer) Kuhn with whom he celebrated 14 years of marriage this past September 11th. John proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Maytown Church of God, Red Lion Legion Post 543, and Elizabethtown VFW Post 5667. John enjoyed dancing, bowling, watching NASCAR and WWE Wrestling, and most of all spending time with family. Surviving in addition to his wife Beryl are five children, Peggy Thoman wife of Gregory, Judy Kerstetter wife of Keith, Joan Gladfelter wife of Claude, Mary Tome wife of Edward, and John Kuhn companion of Judy Burns; four step-children, Mary Ellen Waltimyer wife of Ed, Michael Drace husband of Judy, Cathy Hoffmaster wife of Jere, and Steve Drace husband of Connie. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service honoring John's life will be held at Maytown Church of God, 10 W. Elizabeth St., Maytown 17550 at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2014. Family and friends will be received at the church following the service downstairs in the social hall. Interment will be private.
