FLAGLER BEACH, FL Kelley H. Carr, 84, formerly of New Freedom, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at his residence in Florida. He was the husband of Carla M. Carr, to whom he was married for 65 years. A viewing will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. A graveside service will follow the viewing at 3:30 p.m. in New Freedom Cemetery with a flag fold and taps by York County Veterans Honor Guard. The Rev. Mark L. Hopkins will officiate. Born July 9, 1929, in Parson, W.Va., Kelley was the son of the late Webster and Millie (Miller) Carr. Kelley retired from Bethlehem Steel, Sparrows Point, Md., after 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served during the Korean War, and was stationed in Greenland. He was a former member of New Freedom Baptist Church. He loved fishing, tinkering with motors, and was mechanically inclined. In addition to his wife, Kelley is survived by his son, Keith M. Carr and his wife, Mary of Flagler Beach, Fla.; one grandson, Shawn M. Carr and his wife, Candi of Fairport, N.Y.; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother and seven sisters. He was preceded in death by a son, David K. Carr; one brother; and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Freedom Baptist Church, P.O. Box 157, New Freedom, PA 17349.
